On the Road to Ft. Jackson, SC

We are on our way to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina for Matthew's graduation from Basic Training. Because we can not see him until Thursday morning, we are making a few stops along the way. Today we are going to the beach in Destin, Florida. Michael wanted to go to a Florida beach. Last night we stayed at the Baymont Inn at Tilsmancorner, Alabama which is outside of Mobile.

Phyllis and Michael are still sleeping (9:30), however, our check out time is at 11:00, so it is about wake up time (we arrived last night at 2:00). Phyllis and Michael have the gift of sleeping. I haven't slept that much since Michael was born, 18 years ago. Something about having three kids I guess.

Yesterday evening we had the opportunity to park on a bridge in Louisiana for almost two hours while a wreck was clearing. I got out of the car and threw crackers in the swamp at turtles and gar. This reminded me of growing up, shooting at turtles in the creek. Finally, the wreck cleared and we were on our way.

Michael and I took a shower this morning and experienced the greatest showerhead we have ever experienced. It had at least ten different adjustments. I am going to try to find one when we get back to Katy for Michael's birthday on the 25th.
