Katy Flatlands

Cycling for the past six years has been my way of controlling my weight and staying in shape. November 12, I was on my way to getting in shape when I had an accident on an organized ride. Since then, I have been riding sporadically. Today, this is going to change because I begin training for the Katy Flatlands. The event is July 16.

The Katy Flatlands ride is on the order of the "Hotter N Hell 100" which is in Wichita Falls, Texas --- in August. Have you ever been to Texas in August? The Wichita Falls area is one of the hottest in the state. The temperature can get as high as 115! It is even hotter on the blacktop! The Katy Flatlands is considered a good preparation ride for the "Hotter N Hell" ride.

When I train for a ride, eventually, I start feeling so much better. I am going to plan to ride a "century," however, they do have less miles; 30, 45, and 62, if I am not in the shape I need to be to ride 100. If you are a bike rider, come join me. It should be fun.
