There is So Much to Learn

There is so much to learn about the field of Special Education! Today I was in a meeting about a child who was doing well, except he had a very short-term memory. This gave me another subject to research. What do you do if you have a child with an extreme short-term memory?

___________

There is a middle school in Houston that the building is causing people to be sick. When I first heard that if it was a rich white school instead of a black school that something would have already been done, I thought it was ridiculous. It took five days and a lot of sick people before the students and teachers were evacuated from the building.

I now believe that if it had been a rich white school, something would have been done.

There are many discriminations in life besides race. Special Education departments are often treated like a "step child." I know it happens where I teach and probably all over the country.
