Road to Recovery

Every morning when upon waking up, I am on the road to recovery. No, I am not addicted to anything. However, I am recovering from my past, a catalogue of idiotic mistakes , and being human. For the rest of my life, I will travel the recovery road.

Teaching is wonderful. This summer most of my days will be spent at teacher training meetings and teaching summer school for five weeks. We are going to Padre Island this weekend and as often as we can.

I am so proud of my kids. Matthew and Melissa are youth ministry interns this summer and Michael is involved in several Bible Study groups and working out. He is also going to start working for CiCi's -- his favorite place to eat.

Phyllis and I received a $100 gift certificate from one of our students to the Taste of Texas, which is one of the top independent steak houses in the country.

Today and Monday I will be in Life Skills training. Although I do not teach Life Skills, I think the training will be valuable since some of my students are on the border line of Life Skills/Resource.

Have you ever read anything by Tony Campolo? I really like him, that is not fair that mom and you get to go to Taste of Texas! : )

Good post on a variety of subjects. Eclectic, I guess you'd call it.

The Taste of Texas steak house sounds good. Do they have them in other towns around the state, too? Like around Dallas or Austin? Those would be two places we might get to try it out. Sounds great. Have you ever been there before?

Just wondering.

Hope your mom gets better really soon. I've been praying for her and you, too, David.
