There was a king in the land of Charity who loved children. King Epaga loved children and children loved him. Every morning he would wake up and declare, "Today, no child will be left unloved." He referred to this declaration as the "No Child Left Unloved" proclamation.
King Epaga was the first and only king Charity ever had. No one could remember a time when He did not rule. No one ever thought that there should be another king, because King Epaga was so kind and compassionate. His compassion flowed from his heart into the hearts of every person in Charity. Because of his compassion, everyone had faith in King Epaga. Because of his enormous love, everyone had love for each other.
Charity was an island in the Sea of Tranquility. The land was rich in vegetation and fruit, the Sea of Tranquility was full of fish. The inhabitants of the island lived in villages. Each village had farmers and fishermen, builders and merchants. Every need was fulfilled.
One day, a group of fishermen were walking from their village to the sea to catch fish for their families. The fishermen would leave in the early morning, and not get back until late at night. Their journey to the sea took them past another village. They enjoyed walking through the village and talking with the village people. Today, however, something very troubling happened.
to be continued....
