Wake Up!

Therefore it says, "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Ephesians 4:14

My bedroom has blinds. Even though it is difficult for me to wake up, usually with the aroma of Verona coffee filling the house, I will awake. Our blinds, even when closed, allow some light to enter our room. There are times when I have slept in a hotel room which had the heavy curtains where no light could get through. Talking about deep sleep! Without any light, it is mandatory that I have a wake up call, or I won't get up when I need to.

Being open, in essence, is waking up. Being open is allowing ourselves to be exposed to the light of grace and truth. This light shines on our hearts and gives us opportunity to make changes in our lives. Openness which is non-judgemental and non-anxious gives us more opportunities to have meaningful relationships. Open minds, open hearts, allow us to live open lives. Wake up!
