Searching for a Birth Mom

This morning I received a copy of a membership card from the First Baptist Church of San Antonio. I emailed the FBC records secretary Monday to inquire if I could get a copy of the membership record of my birth mother, Beverly. I found out from my long lost birth cousin that my bmom had grown up in this church. This morning I received the copy.

(Written and underlined in the middle of the card, without any explanation is the word): DECEASED

How did someone know to write the word "deceased" on this card? No one knows. This is the only indication that we have ever found that my birth mother is dead. The "deceased" probably came from Mrs. Collins, who was her landlord at one time. Mrs. Collins is probably dead, but maybe she had children that remember. The search for my birth mother's death records continues.

"Put your hand into my wounds, " said the risen Jesus to Thomas, "and you will know who I am." The wounds of Christ are his identity. They tell us who he is. He did not lose them. They went down into the grave with him and they came up with him -- visible, tangible, palpable. Rising did not remove them. He who broke the bonds of death kept his wounds.
