Openness

Are you open? Closed is the opposite of open. It is usually irritating to hear the words, "We are closed." It is a different experience to ask the question, "Are you open?" and then hear the response, "Yes, come on in."

Sometimes things appear to be open, but they are really closed. Some people on the surface seem open, but when you begin a discussion you realize they are closed. Some people close early; as early as 25 years. Some stay open, until the casket is closed.

An open hand invites and unites. A clinched fist divides and conquers. An open hand is the prayer of a humble and hungry heart. A clinched fist is a declaration of power and punishment.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord, that I may see you!
