A Special Weekend

Matthew is graduating from Abilene Christian University today. His field of study is Missions/Youth Ministry. Much of his coursework was challenging, yet he perservered. Many of his classes were life changing, especially the courses he had with Professor Randy Harris.

His summers were very much a part of his education. He spent summers doing mission work in Slovenia, Costa Rica, and youth ministry in Sulphur Springs, TX and Memphis, Tenn.

Phyllis and I are very proud of Matthew for hanging in there. Phyllis (ACU '77) is going to hood him. He also has some very proud grandparents. They helped pay for some of his tuitution!

Hopefully, by the first of the year he will have a youth ministry job so he can help pay of his college loans (our deal is we pay 1/2 our children pay 1/2).

After graduation, we are going to San Antonio to watch our other son, Michael, play football. The Katy Tigers are playing San Antonio Madison in the quarterfinals at the Alamodome. It should be a great game. If we play like we did last weekend, beating Clements 42-0, we will win. We definitely must bring our A game.

It should be a special weekend!
