This weekend, Bailey, Michael and I are batchin it. Phyllis is gone to Abilene to the ACU homecoming. Her and Melissa are now in the same sorority - Sigma Chi, or Siggies. On Saturday morning, there is a special breakfast which honors the new Siggies - Melissa, and welcomes the mature Siggies which is Phyllis. This is also Phyllis' 30 Year Reunion. It is hard to believe that it has been 30 years since Phyllis graduated from ACU, and that I married such an older woman. My 30th year reunion from Harding University is in two years. It took me an extra semester to graduate and Phyllis also graduated when she was 21.
Matthew is hopefully completing his last semester at ACU, and will graduate in December. His future may include being a missionary in Costa Rica or getting his teaching certification and becoming a junior high football coach and history teacher. Hopefully it will also include finding a wonderful Christian woman to be his wife and the mother of my grand kids. After Phyllis has repeatedly turned down the idea of adopting a little boy, I think my best bet is for Matthew to get married.
Today the Katy Tigers are playing the Morton Ranch Mavericks. We had a tough game last week against Hastings, only winning by 11 points. We had a difficult time with their speed. Morton Ranch has not won a game, so it should be an easier victory, which also means Michael getting to play more. He is a backup defensive back of one of the best secondary in Texas. Over the years there have been many Katy players that would have started with other teams, however, when you have 80 players on a team and some incredible starters, you have to be more of a team player in order for the starters to have their best game. Coach Joseph's philosophy is that the experience of winning is greater than ever team member playing an equal amount if you make a run for the State Championship. The philosophy on the sub-varsity level is to win while making sure that everyone gets to play as much as possible. Of course the stakes are much higher for the varsity.
Have a great weekend!

Katy won the game, 52-12. Michael played and looked good out there!
I'm glad Katy won their game, David. And I hope you all survived the weekend home alone!
Cheers & Blessings to you this week! Dee
