I PASSED!

Yesterday, I took the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities EC-12 test. This is the test that all teachers must pass to get their permanent certificate. Taking it on the computer instead of the paper test allowed me to get immediate feedback. 66 of 80 were correct, which means that it was over 80% correct, which is passing. It is a scaled score, so I will not know what my actual results are until I get them in the mail. The main thing is that I passed!

This is a very difficult test because two of four of the multiple choice answers are correct. The difficulty is in choosing the one that is the best choice out of the two. With this kind of test, the test taker must know strategies as well as content.

Instead of taking the EC - 4 test, I took the EC - 12 which means that I can teach pre-school through high school.

This week I also found out that I have been accepted to teach summer school. Before you think I will be working all summer, let me share the schedule. The summer school for Special Ed is two weeks off, two weeks on, two weeks off, two weeks on, two weeks off, one week on, then two weeks before school starts at the end of August. The hours are from 8-1 and Fridays are off.

Special Ed summer school is quite an experience because every neurologically diverse situation is under one roof! It is a great way to experience much in a short period of time.

This has been a great week
