YOUR FIRED!

Have you ever had someone try to get you fired? Today, I gave a para (aid) a small book I had printed from an educational web site to read to one of my students. As the para was going to the first grade classroom, she ran into the woman who is trying to get me fired so that she can have my job instead of the one she is doing. I incorrectly stapled the book, so the para could not figure out how to go from one page to the next, so she asked this particular teacher. My nemesis immediately grabbed the little book and took it down to the assistant principal to tattle on me for incorrect stapling. How I found out about it was that the instructional coordinator called me into her room to show me how to staple it. I was flabbergasted that she ended up with the little book. I knew immediately that someone had made a big deal about this, so she told me what happened.

I hope my teaching abilities are not judged by how well I staple. Out of the hundreds of papers I have stapled this year, I think it was my first stapling mistake. Hopefully, this episode blew up in my nemesis' face. It is a very busy time of year, so I am not sure how well the assistant principal received the complaint from her. The campaign against me is getting on my nerves. I have gone out of my way to be friendly to her, but to no avail. The only time she was friendly to me was when she asked me to switch with her next year. I didn't really want to, but trying to be a team player, I asked the principal. She was against the switch, which I was thankful for.

Have you ever had someone try to destroy your career? This is the second time in my life that it has happened to me. The first time I was in ministry. This time it is not near as traumatic. But it is still very annoying.

Next year should be a much better year. It is amazing how little respect first year teachers get. I have never experienced anything like this before, so it has been difficult to relate to.

Have you ever had an experience like this before?

Sounds like you are having a rough year end. I can't think of a time when anyone was trying for my job, but a few times when I would have gladly given it away!

Hang in there, sounds like you have the support of the administration....and summer is coming!

Office politics just stink--but they seem to be everywhere I land--either it's me--or they are everywhere.
Summer is coming--surely your administration will see through this one.

Good grief, David - you're catching it from all sides, fella! How terrible. And tacky (no pun intended).

I've never heard of not stapling something together the "right" way being a Federal offense! That's really ridiculous.

Hang in there. School will be out soon and you'll do fine.

Cheers & Blessings to you today! Dee

You seem to be going through a challenging time at the moment. How petty of this woman to stab you in the back like that. I imagine that you are not the only one who sees that she appears to be jealous of you. YOU are a much bigger person and I know you will come out of this phase stronger than before.
