"Aha" Moment

by Jessica
Yesterday, I may have had one of the most important conversations of my life. It was one of those "aha" moments. The context was the discussion of father figures, and how I seemed to do better in a job when I was working with someone who was a father figure to me. After this, the woman that I was in conversation with had an "aha" moment, and shared it with me. Then I had an "aha" moment.

The "aha" was actually something I had thought about before, but did not allow myself to believe. It was almost as if she gave me permission to explore the possibilities of what would happen if I thought about something very important to me a certain way. Before sharing the "aha," I would like to give it some time to germinate.

Share an "aha" moment that you have experienced.

When I finally came to the conclusion that I didn't actually have to recycle to be a good person.

Dee... You know how you deep down feel like you should always be doing X,Y, and Z? I never wanted to recycle and then I saw a Tom Brokaw in depth report about how it "works" and it liberated me. Now, I don't recycle!

(Where I used to live it was legally mandatory to recycle EVERYTHING, practically including toilet paper. That means we had to drive to the recycling plant and separate out every thing we used, plastics, cans, bottles, newspapers, etc. And every bag that you threw away was like thirty five cents. Anyway, you live in America, so you wouldn't understand the ways of people in upstate NY... the only city in America with literally a Socialist mayor.)

I am with Donna on the name change.. I though Who is that?

Recycling is a joke really.

Boy, I have had a lot of aha moments. I had a moment in Colorado where I realized that God is alive and much bigger than I had thought.
