Hurricane Rita

It looks like the Texas gulf coast is in the path of Rita. I hope that Rita is not the twin sister of Katrina. Phyllis is already talking about going to her parents house in Dallas. I'll wait and see. The evacuees will probably be evacuated. What a tough life.

Our Katy High School football game will probably be postponed. The irony is that the team we are scheduled to play, Strake Jesuit, is one of two private schools in 5A football. They have added 30 new players from New Oleans Jesuit. Our coach said that we are going to beat the best in Texas, so we might as well beat the best in New Orleans also.

Houston hasn't had a major hurricane since 1983 - Alicia. Tropical storm Allison was a rain drain, so it brought many problems. The biggest problem in our area, sense we live inland is tornadoes, flooding, and no electricity.

This should be an interesting week!

Oh no. I saw the news that they were evacuating Houston, so I came right to the source.

Blessings on you!

Right now we are not sure what we are going to do. Harris county called for an evacuation, which is where I live. I can understand now what goes through the mind of people that don't want to leave.

Did they call for a mandatory evacuation? Or voluntary?

Do you have an emergency kit, complete with guns and ammunition?

I've prayed for your wisdom!

They have called for a voluntary evacuation except for the coastal areas - which is mandatory. Thank you for your prayers.

Nancy,
Remember, Texans are allowed to have guns in our homes and we will and can use them if need be. We can even shoot at the robbers and not get put in jail!
