Do you remember hearing or saying the words, "Go outside and play?" Usually this is said when kids are getting on their parent's nerves. PLAY is the FISH! principle that is probably the one that gets the most attention. I think the reason for this is that it is the most unique, especially coming from a business management related book.
Has anyone ever told you, "You need to quit taking yourself so seriously." There are times to be serious, and there are also times to loosen up. Jesus spoke about "being like a child." The Apostle Paul wrote of "being joyful." Play is one of those inner-outer issues. If the inside doesn't feel like playing, whatever playful action you may take usually comes across phony.
Being playful begins with choosing your attitude. Begin by thinking about how to enjoy the moment. "What can I do right now to make this moment more joyful?" Think of ways to make your home and work more fun. Have fun with people.
