Every age needs men who will redeem the time by living with a vision of the things that are to be.
--Adlai E. Stevenson
Vision gives energy to our purpose. Vision is derived from our sense that we are here on this earth for a reason, and it is not to collect dust, or become dust. Even for young people who are in the most dreadful circumstances, some powerful events can happen when they begin to see possibilities instead of problems. Vision can bring us out of seeing ourselves as damaged, because of a painful past; and view ourselves as challenged.
There are so many great examples of men and women who have brought themselves out of difficult circumstances such as Ray Charles, Helen Keller, Christopher Reeve, and thousands of others by having a vision of what they could accomplish.
Those who have overcome difficult family experiences, and are now great fathers and mothers are some of the greatest among us. They had a vision for being a good parent, and moved toward that vision with the choices they made.
What is your vision of being a great father, mother, or even a friend? If you have difficulty with vision, go back and evaluate your purpose. You are here for a reason. Begin seeing yourself accomplishing your purpose. Believe that you can accomplish great things -- because you can.

Chico, thanks for calling us to be people of VISION! I whole-heartedly agree with everything you said. I believe that if we are REALLY walking by faith, it is hard for us not to be people with vision. When you circle the wagons or think you have arrived, then there is no need for vision.
Thanks for your encouragement!
