Hurricanes and Jesus

Hurricanes are so powerful. Imagine Jesus hanging out in Florida. Hurricane Ivan is making its way towards the beautiful white sandy beaches and resorts of the panhandle. Jesus is with his disciples, along with reporters from CNN and the Weather Channel. The reporters are in front of their cameras reporting as flying debris whizs by. All of a sudden, Jesus begins walking towards the gulf shore. White robe and sandals, sand and rain attacking ferociously. When he is knee deep in water, facing the violent storm, he raises his hands and says, "Peace, be still." At once, everything is calm. The reporters and other witnesses are stunned.

CNN reports, "Apparently, the cooler waters of the gulf have significantly decreased the intensity of the storm. The hurricane is no longer organized and has decreased in intensity rapidly. It appears, a man in a white robe and sandals was walking towards the tumultuous waters when they calmed. We do not know the identity of this man. He may be homeless. It looks like he is somewhat startled by these developments. Let's go to our hurricane expert, Dr. Bill in Atlanta."

My prayer is with all who are facing storms, whether in Mobile or Baghdad, or Main Street, USA. Peace, be still.
